The European Economic and Social Commitee (EESC) and the Committee of the Regions (CoR) hold their meetings in a building at Rue Belliard in Brussels. DIS has equipped all 8 meeting rooms (from 50 to 224 delegates) with the most advanced digital conference equipment including conference microphones, voting and simultaneous interpretation system and wired language distribution.
The conference management software, SW 6000 runs on all monitors and keeps the delegates updated on voting results, meeting agenda, delegate information etc. In the meeting rooms there are space for up to 50 interpreters, who can monitor the delegates either through the soundproof glass or on a display. The systems handles 32 channels/languages plus 8 open microphones. When noone is speaking, the ambient microphone will automatically turn on.
In the nearby technical room the operator handles the large mimic display, the AMX display etc. - and in the central operator rooms the technicians overview all rooms and take care of room linking, audio logging and data management.
