The Lecture Theatre of City University of Hong Kong has recently been equipped with DIS digital DCS 6000 system. The system installed is a single central unit CU 6005 updated with feature license for up to 100 conference units. In the desktop customised flush mount microphone units are installed. One chairman unit (FC 6021 customised) and 69 delegate units (FD6021 customised) each connected through an MU 6040 C/D unit. All units are equipped with 36 cm Gooseneck microphones with XLR plugs.
The City University required a customised solution in order to protect the front panel socket when microphones are not in use, and the system is idle. In collaboration with our DIS distributor for Hong Kong SAR & Macau, Eduserve International Ltd (www.eduserve.com.hk) DIS manufactored the items. The solution was a simple customised socket protector which reminds of an old-fashioned ‘keyhole protector’.
Today, teachers as well as students at the Lecture Theatre hear each other loudly and clearly and conduct interactive sessions with ease. In case the City University of Hong Kong one day wants to expand the features in their conference systems, the DIS 6000 digital conference system is ready with a multiple of add ons.
