The second conference of Arab Woman Organization (AWO) was held at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
The two-day event was held under the patronage of Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the UAE General Women's Union and President of the Arab Women's Organization and this current edition was graced by the attendance of First Ladies of Member States of Jordan, Bahrain, Tunisia, Sudan, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco, and Mauritania as well as official delegates from Algeria, Oman, and Yemen. First Ladies of non-Member States of Comoros, Somalia, Kuwait and Djibouti in addition to representatives of the Arab League and other regional and international government and non-government organizations were also present at the conference.
The conference was held to highlight the role of Arab women in political, social and economic fields and its impact on Arab society, and to throw light on continued efforts by Arab women to play a more active role in all aspects of life, to effectively participate in the march of development in the Arab world, as well as in strengthening their contribution to drawing up strategies and policies and the decision-making process.
As an event like this requires first class conference equipment in big quantities, local rental specialist Almoe contacted DIS to assist with additional microphone units from their rental house in Scandinavia. Shortly before the meeting more than 600 units of the CDS 4000 and DCS 6000 conference systems were delivered together with three technicians to assure a smooth and successful schedule.
