Russia’s first LNG plant to supply Asia opened by President Medvedev 
 





Sakhalin Energy’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant at Prigorodnoye in the south of Sakhalin Island was officially inaugurated by President Dmitry Medvedev on February 18.
This plant which is part of the innovative Sakhalin II project, beginning in 2003 will at full capacity account for some 5% of global LNG supplies.

Many distinguished guests attended the ceremony including the Duke of York from the United Kingdom, the Prime Minister of Japan and the Netherlands Minister for Economic Affairs.

After the grand opening, President Medvedev visited the large conference hall in Sakhalin regional administration building, where the DIS DCS6000 conference system is newly installed by our Russian system integrator Polymedia - using the touchscreen conferencing unit DC 6990P. At this conference hall Medvedev hold a conference, dedicated to increase efficiency of Russian participation in the international power cooperation.
